Dusty's Wound

June 18, 1997 was a red-letter day in the life of Dusty. While playing basketball at the SERF (Southeast Recreational Facility), he received a blow to the head. The blow was an elbow applied to the area above the right eye. Blood quickly appeared and Dusty was forced from the game. After a quick shower and the application of a bandage, Dusty proceeded to drive his motercycle to the DeanCare Urgent Card Facility. Here was was examined by a nurse and told that he would need stitches. Dr. Mark Jefferies was the attending physician. Three internal and dissolving stitches were applied. Eight external stitches were also applied. A protective salve was applied and a standard bandage was applied over the area. At work the next day, pictures were taken to prove the existence and severity of the wound. An example picture is shown below. As you can see, the eight external stitches are plainly visible. The right eye is swollen and slightly bruised.
